Del. Jesse Pippy (R-District 4) has asked Frederick County’s state delegation to consider a bill that would place a moratorium on new data centers in the county until a statewide study is completed.  “There have been significant concerns raised by our residents related to data center development,” he wrote in an emailed statement about the bill after the meeting. “These issues range from the [Frederick] County Council’s recently expanded overlay decision to soaring energy costs and transmission projects. It is important for our Delegation to discuss data centers and the impact they are having in our community.”
